Proper old fashioned pub that serves great food. With the stone building and thatched roof, it oozes character, and is a 'proper' pub that hasn't fallen into the trap of trying to be trendy. The food and drink are excellent, there's plenty parking, and the welcome was warm and friendly. We'll definitely be going back!
Comfortable village pub, good ales and pub grub. Great log burner in the colder months Landlord is very welcoming and friendly. Lovely well kept beer garden. Would give five stars if there was a wider choice of draught beer. What they have is very well kept though.
This pub offers all I could ask for when visiting a traditional country pub. John the landlord is a great host and made us feel welcome from the minute we entered. The kids played darts and pool and there's a good size garden for them outside too. You won't get weatherspoon prices in here but we live in Essex and didn't find it any different to the prices we pay around here. We returned for Sunday lunch later in the week which we had to pre order but wasn't disappointed. Will be calling in again next time we're in the village.
